She Was About to Play the Jukebox

She was about to play the jukebox.

It was 1982.

I said, play some Waylon.

She said I’m more into Hank.

She was about to play the jukebox.

I said, Whiskey, Bent, and Hell Bound?

She said A Country Boy Can Survive

I said, punch B 12.

She was about to play the jukebox.

I said, why that song?

She said it reminds me of someone.

I said who?

She was about to play the jukebox.

She said you.
